Yes, more 35mm Lomo digitisation craziness. But you do have to agree, I hope, that these are beautiful images. Emily took some of them, which just goes to show what a talent she has.

A few days ago I was in Moscow and I stayed with Boris and through him met some fab new friends. Anna and Kaly and a chap who's name I will add here when I get it :( Sorry, I am bad at names. But they were all great. Boris was my host (see CouchSurfing.com). We all wiled the night away until 2am drinking Armenian cognac. Apparently it is labeled as Cognac as it has had official dispensation to do so.. it is that good.
Boris was close to Moscow City, and a short walk to the '1905' Metro station from which I explored Moscow. These are the first pictures I'm posting through.. peer pressure :)
I didn't take all the pictures obviously. But you'll get the gist. And that's the point.

More candid and stolen pictures of shoes and bags in a shoe shop. The same shoe shop as last time in fact. I go to the shop because the shoes are so beautiful.

Graffiti and bridge repairs. Two topics in one. Evening light which makes the graffiti beautiful.
Was the bridge repair designed like that or was it built simply with available materials?

A salutatory tale... Simple message is to backup your machine. I did. I'm relatively happy.
I have just spent ten days without my Mac. And when it came back, it was with a new HDD (OK, twice as big as the last one) but without ANY data from the old one. I do back up occasionally. Last backup was, according to my sticky on the backup disk, 12 Dec 07. Turned out to be 6 Jan 08. Good message here... make sure that your sticky on your backup disk is accurate - otherwise you'll sweat unnecessarily.
When push came to shove, and I booted the Mac from the backup up disk, I could restore from the bootable backup in less than an hour. End result is a complete Nik-machine with very little effort... even down to Firefox / Gmail 'remembering' my autofill password. Now that's a backup! I haven't had to reinstall any software at all.
I have lost two weeks of photos (very very bad), and CV versions (not significant) and some other stuff...
I suggest you backup today, or feel good 'cos you do it anyway.

Well, if it rains it pours.
My home machine, the Mac, has died is is therefore out of action. It's either a HDD failure or similar (machine can't see the disk). It's at the menders.
So, nothing here for a while - it's not really practical to post from a net cafe.
